Elaine Erlanger

Elaine Erlanger is a self-taught fiber artist specializing in stump work and hand embroidery.

Inspired by techniques passed down from her great-grandmother, she has developed a distinctive style that blends traditional needlework with sculptural dimension and naturalistic detail.

Her work explores botanical themes, bringing flowers and foliage to life through raised embroidery, textured stitching, and carefully layered elements.

Elaine is especially known for working on unconventional surfaces, including natural leaves, vintage book covers, canvases, and ornamental pieces, creating art that feels both timeless and unexpected.
