Terri Johansson

Terri Johnannson finds her artistic inspiration in her deep connection with nature. As an enthusiastic hiker, fisher, kayaker, camper, and scuba diver, as well as through her travels to Europe and the Caribbean, she gathers inspiration for her artwork.

Splitting her time between the Intracoastal waterway in St. Augustine, Florida, a cabin in Western North Carolina, Terri is constantly surrounded by the beauty of nature, which fuels her creativity and provides an endless stream of ideas for her future works. She envisions scenes in glass when she immerses herself in nature.

With a lifelong passion for art, Terri has explored various mediums, including oil, acrylic, and watercolor painting, as well as sculpture, all of which have influenced her glass art. Her artistic journey began with drawing, and she sold her first painting at the age of 11.

Terri is captivated by the fluid quality of glass and the way light effortlessly passes through it. She utilizes texture to add depth and movement to her creations, pushing the boundaries of what is possible with glass.

While primarily self-taught, Terri remains dedicated to learning and refining her craft through continuous research and experimentation. Her art glass panels undergo kiln firing from 3 to 22 times to achieve the desired depth and detail in her work.
