Susan Lingg

“Watercolors and oils each have their own rhythm, their own tempo. Paintings are not pictures, but expressions of the excitement of the passing moment.”

This artist was born and raised in Michigan spending vacation time on the big waters of Lake Michigan and small lakes, studying art along the way. She is a self-taught, intuitive painter, her first art exhibit was a close-line exhibit at the age of 8. 

Susan has been exhibiting her work through art fairs, festivals, libraries, universities, government buildings and galleries since 1982.   Susan teaches watercolor and handmade paper through various institutions and privately. 

Nestled in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains (about an hour west of Asheville) Susan is an artist and the owner of Watercolors and Oils by Susan studio and the ‘Country Framer’ a custom picture frame shop and gallery in Cullowhee, NC.
