Lauri SoJourner

Lauri SoJourner comes from a family of creative people. Her mom gave her a watercolor class as a Christmas gift in 2016, and she fell in love with the lessons watercolor teaches – namely, to let go of the outcome. 

Lauri stays busy as a business-owner and community leader. She is an experienced facilitator, teacher, and nonprofit leader. She has worked in retreat and camp ministry and higher education and has held numerous board and other volunteer positions locally, regionally, and nationally. Her “fun job” is working at Twigs and Leaves Gallery where she enjoys being surrounded by the inspiration of other artists, meeting art enthusiasts and art-curious, and working with a fantastic team.

Lauri lives in Waynesville with her husband, one of their six children, and a small ever-evolving zoo of needy animals. In addition to watercolor, she enjoys yoga, collage and other art experiments, watching the neighborhood wildlife, travel, and coming up with excuses for drinking wine with friends. She thinks sending a child to camp is the best investment you can make in the future.
