Smoky Mountain Christmas Celebration

Waynesville turns into a holiday playground for children and children at heart. Shop and dine along a luminary lined street, tell Santa (and Mrs. Claus, too!) your Christmas wishes, enjoy musicians and carolers, see the live Nativity at First Baptist Church, and - of course! - stop by Twigs & Leaves Gallery for more merriment. Twigs & Leaves will have artist demos, karaoke, Christmas goodies, and something for everyone on your list!

Main Street Ice Stroll

Get ready to chill and stroll through a winter wonderland at the Visit Haywood Ice Stroll! On Friday night of the Visit Haywood Ice Fest Weekend, Downtown Waynesville will come alive with enchanting ice sculptures lining the streets. As you wander, you will find local businesses - including Twigs & Leaves Gallery - keeping their doors open late, offering cozy treats to keep you fueled as you admire the frozen masterpieces. New this year is a 21+ adult “Chill Zone” where you can go and enjoy some tasty beverages “on the rocks.”

Chili Cookoff Stroll

Come and experience world-class chili, shopping, dining, and art with the many merchants, galleries, and restaurants in Downtown Waynesville, Hazelwood, Haywood Square, and Frog Level.

Stroll through town, taste, vote, and move on to the next participating restaurant or merchant. Your vote will determine the winner of the People’s Choice for the best chili. Official judges will determine the best in the Restaurant and Merchant categories for a chance to have bragging rights of the best chili for a whole year!
 
The tasting stroll begins at noon, but shops open at 10 am so come early and enjoy all the town has to offer. Look out for the Chili Mascot for a photo op. Park and ride the shuttle sponsored by Cold Mountain Tubing that goes to each area every hour. Wrist bands will be sold for $5 each for the chance to taste and vote for your favorite.
