Hailing from the quaint mountain town of Blowing Rock, NC, Evenlight Eagles traces her lineage through many generations entrenched in the soul-stirring landscapes of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Embarking on her journey into craftsmanship straight out of high school, Evenlight found herself under the wing of her uncle, the esteemed bladesmith Daniel Winkler. It was a pivotal moment in his career when he was commissioned to fashion the iconic knives for the protagonists of "The Last of the Mohicans," igniting her passion for leatherwork.
Inspired by her aunt Karen Shook's mastery in crafting sheaths and leather accessories to complement her uncle's blades, Evenlight embarked on an enlightening apprenticeship journey.
Evenlight is dedicated to imparting knowledge and promoting sustainability. She returns periodically to her alma mater, Appalachian State, to share her expertise in leatherwork through the Crafts Enrichment Program, nurturing the aspirations of budding artisans.
Beyond her commitment to her craft, Evenlight is blessed with the vibrant companionship of her daughter, a spirited high schooler who adds a touch of dynamism to her life.
