Hailing from the quaint mountain town of Blowing Rock, NC, Evenlight Eagles traces her lineage through many generations entrenched in the soul-stirring landscapes of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Embarking on her journey into craftsmanship straight out of high school, Evenlight found herself under the wing of her uncle, the esteemed bladesmith Daniel Winkler. It was a pivotal moment in his career when he was commissioned to fashion the iconic knives for the protagonists of "The Last of the Mohicans," igniting her passion for leatherwork.
Inspired by her aunt Karen Shook's mastery in crafting sheaths and leather accessories to complement her uncle's blades, Evenlight embarked on an enlightening apprenticeship journey.
A native plant enthusiast, Evenlight is the Horticulture Chair for the Blowing Rock Garden Club. She is dedicated to imparting knowledge, promoting sustainability, and giving back more than she takes through her work. She uses low impact, free-range, low chemical leathers. She commits a portion of her proceeds to reintroducing native species to the area.
