Elaine Hyatt

Elaine Hyatt was born and raised in Waynesville, North Carolina. She has devoted her life to serving children as a teacher across many different grade levels. She is married to Danny Hyatt. Her greatest joy in life is her six grandchildren. Elaine enjoys spending time outdoors, working in her flower garden, hiking scenic mountain trails in the Appalachian and Rocky Mountains,
or helping her husband on the family farm.

Botanical plaster casting is an art form which uses live plants to create beautiful wall hangings and Christmas ornaments. The process begins with gathering native and ornamental plants for the design. Inspiration for each design comes from the beauty of God’s creation. The next step is to prepare clay to make the mold for the cast. Plants are then arranged and pressed into the clay. All pieces of the plants must be removed from the clay. A mold is placed around the design and plaster is poured into the mold. Once the plaster is cured, the mold and clay are removed from the design. After the plaster is completely dried, the cast is painted to bring the design to life.

Each wall hanging and Christmas ornament are unique, one of a kind! You cannot reuse the mold. Botanical Plaster Casting allows you to bring nature into your home. The casts will enhance any room in which they are displayed.
