I am a landscape and nature photographer based in Waynesville, NC. I first developed a passion for photography at 12-years-old, away at summer camp at Lake Junaluska. We went to visit the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and I snapped a landscape shot that still hangs in my parents’ house today. A WNC resident for the last six years, I now enjoy capturing the awe-inspiring locations I remembered as a child – from a whole new perspective. I use photography as a means to detail the world around me. In a fast-paced, ever-changing world; I strive to create visuals that will have a timeless lasting impression.
Most often, I go on photo shoots alone. I find that life slows down in these moments, and I’m able to see things from a different perspective. I don’t follow a theme, I simply focus on magical scenes; scenes that take my breath away; whether they follow the “rules” of photography or not.
I capture my visuals with a Canon 5D Mark III; and use a combination of lenses from both Canon and Sigma. I utilize various filters and polarizers and personally process all my images using Adobe Lightroom.
The goal of my photography is to capture places in such a way that it reminds me of how I felt when I was there. My hope is that my photographs will take you to each location and offer you an opportunity to experience the beauty for yourself.
