Born and raised in New England, Tom has lived in the mountains of western North Carolina formore than 20 years and is thankful to be a part of the unique artisan community in Haywood County, NC. He first began building furniture as he and his wife were remodeling their home. Designing and creating for his own home blossomed into a passion for woodworking that would move him to experiment, study and grow his skills. Retirement has now allowed him to devote himself to his workshop full time.
Since those first inspirational projects, Tom has imagined and crafted items of many different kinds. He especially loves mixing and matching woods and epoxy resin of every color. He is inspired by the satisfaction that comes from looking at a rough, imperfect slab of wood and turning it into something beautiful and useful. He works in a careful, deliberate way to create as little waste as possible and some of his most beautiful projects have been created from wood scraps and cut-offs.
Tom’s creations include barn doors, spice racks, coat racks, bedroom furniture, live edge furniture and shelves, end tables, coffee tables, charcuterie boards, cutting boards, rustic wall art, and more. Epoxy resin is integrated into many of these pieces and every piece is one-of-a-kind.
