Color and whimsy have always been the signature style of Hendersonville artist Phyllis Vaughn.
Moving to the mountains from Georgia several years ago has been a life-changing experience for her…spiritually and artistically.
After years of running her art/design business and selling her whimsical wares…including folk art expressions, art dolls, and bird and animal creations to shops and galleries nationally, she is now taking time to quietly and contently explore this new environment and use her inspirations to create her own vision of this beauty on her canvases.
By using what she considers her signature “primitive” style of painting,
she explores the use of texture, pattern, and color…. making each piece a unique experiment of creativity.
The end result is often a splash of happy interpretations from her imagination…. fun, imperfect and quirky.
