Elia Saxer was born and raised in Louisiana and attended schools there. Employment as a freelance illustrator took her to Austin, Texas. Her work hangs in corporate and private collections and she has received many awards for her artistic talents. Elia currently resides in Shalimar, Florida.
Elia has spent many summers hiking the mountain trails of Western NC where she fell in love with the unique natural beauty of the region and became inspired to capture its character and landscapes in her paintings and architectural prints.
In the artist’s words: “I like to create a textural richness in my pictures using high quality line work, a keen attention to detail, and layers of color or line that allow for a subtle, relaxed realism to surface. I like to execute my pictures with the accuracy that lends itself to effectively communicate the mood of a landscape, or the unique mystery and soul of a structure. Old architecture, mountains landscapes, and rural settings have always been my preferred subject matter. I am especially passionate about depicting old structures in danger of disappearing forever in the beauty of their natural surroundings. I know that every inch of these NC Mountains is a picture just waiting to be captured.”
