Erin Janow’s love for ceramic arts began at Indiana University where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in studio art and art history. She grew up in beautiful, southern Indiana and after graduating moved to Asheville, NC to a job as a studio production potter. After working seven years for Magnum Pottery she began her own pottery business in her home studio. Erin enjoys working from the home partly because her pots are for the home and she embraces that connection.
Functional pottery is very near and dear to Erin. It is a strong thread in our culture dating back to early mountain civilization. She feels fortunate that she is able to carry on the tradition and beauty of functional pottery. “My pots are for the home”, says Janow.
